"If we don't get our rest, how can we wake you up at five in the morning?"

I recently welcomed two new members to the family - a kitten and a puppy. However, Steven and I can't decide on names for them.

Post your ideas for names for both in the comments section. If we decide to use your suggested names, you'll win a beautiful fairy ear cuff! We don't have any specific requirements for the names (they don't have to be fairy-related).

Kitten

"Look, bunnies in the garage!" Steven shouted as we pulled in. Very curious as to why bunnies had taken an interest in the garage, I rushed inside. A small meowing black kitten paced back and forth against the wall, confused by the sudden flight of its companions. We soon discovered the source of the "bunnies" - a bare chicken bone discarded on the cement floor, which the kitten began gnawing furiously. Surprisingly, the distraught kitten required little coaxing to explore an outstretched palm. A single hand engulfed the kitten's belly, its ribs pressing sharply against the fingers.

Frightened mother never returned. Instead, a teary-eyed Steven appeared before me, pleading the kitten's case. Since leaving the life of the street, kitten has developed a nice round pot belly and an affinity for unsuspecting fingers and toes. She likes following soft-hearted humans around purring, meowing, and staring, until somebody gives her attention. She enjoys sleeping on my chest underneath my neck.

Puppy

Puppy came into the world believing it revolved around him, with a regal Pekingese mother, two servant Chihuahuas, four servant humans to cater to his every whim -- feeding him, entertaining him, cleaning him -- and three sisters, although all bigger than him, on which to practice his fighting skills. When we brought puppy home for the first time, he freaked out. "My very own home?" He shouted, running around, tail whipping. "All for me?"

Puppy enjoys playing on his back, his long chunky belly exposed to the air with short legs flailing. When he tries to stand up, the clumsy puppy falls backward. He never really runs; he hops, forelegs pointing forward. Anytime a person brings home groceries or any other object, he examines the items, demanding to know what offerings we have brought him.

"I wasn't sleeping under the couch (as I often don't) and I'm not stuck. And I don't need you to lift it up and pull me out. And I didn't pee under here."
