Interview with ELF School guide John Springer: "Forever see and feel the world through a new set of eyes and heart"
Submitted by guide on Sat, 10/03/2009 - 08:37Nestled deep in the mountainous forests of Asheville, NC, where autumn has just begun to display her fiery colors, Asheville's Mountain Light Sanctuary awaits guests. The Enchanted Living Forest School fast approaches: on October 9-11, the movers and shakers of the fairy realm will gather in the Sanctuary to celebrate this learning experience and to enlighten students on the beauties and intricacies of said realm. Headed by John Springer of Enchanted Walkabout fame (essentially group walks in which he reveals to you fairy activity in the natural world) students can look forward to learning to more deeply appreciate nature and to spot spirits, all the while bonding with fellow believers and mother earth herself. Dear Fairies, please write back! Interview with Carole Hallet Mobbs: To keep some magic alive, I crafted a long letter in reply.
Submitted by guide on Fri, 10/02/2009 - 12:16
When DearFairies.com owner Carole Hallet Mobbs discovered a heartfelt letter to the fairies from her daughter, buried amongst the child's handmade cushion and dress gifts for them, she didn't know what to do. With her daughter set for an operation, Mobbs worried that devoid a response from the fairies, a bit of childhood magic would disappear forever. After all, fairies today spend most of their time tending to the environment; as much as they would love to, they seldom get the chance to sit down and write letters back to eager children.

you’ll see frolicking now and again.
When “Whispering Willow” glows soft as a pillow
with eerie yet welcoming light,
walk up to it slowly all humble and lowly,
ancient home of fairy and sprite...

- What made you get into designing clothing and accessories?
Well, my mother has always made my clothing as a child, along with making my Barbie doll clothes. I have always loved gothic things and style, and have always loved arts and crafts. What really put me into making things I would have to say started when I had my high school winter ball in 10th grade. I wanted a gothic style dress, and they were so hard to find! If I did find one, it was not my size or didn't fit right! So me and my mother made my dress, and we did this for the rest of my high school dances. I got into making accessories case i always wanted unique looking things for my photography, so I figured out what i wanted, and made it.
